Baby-Back is a therapy program designed to help teen parents to cope with having a child while still getting an education. Classes will be taught by people who were teen parents who managed to defy the odds and receive their education. This will provide a relatable environment for the students. Daycare services will be provided to students who manage to maintain at least a C- average. Psychologists will also be provided to teen mothers who may or may not suffer from post-partum depression.
For one month, students who plan on dropping out will be required to take on adult responsibilities (working, paying bills, etc). Students will be given $250 as a start-off. Students will live in an apartment building where he or she is required to care for their assigned apartment. Bills must be paid on time and a $50 late fee will be enforced. Students are NOT allowed to ask for financial assistance from neither family nor friends except for extreme emergencies. This activity is designed to show students the consequences of dropping out of high school and trying to survive in the real world without a high school diploma in America.
